Six years ago some small business owners decided they wanted to help create awareness for some very good local yet internationally known artists. Thus, in 2004, Art Around Adams was born in the North Park and Kensington neighborhoods of San Diego.

This year, Bamboo and Tikis participated in this unique San Diego art showcase. A venue was set up to display our eco-friendly bamboo designs and visitors were encouraged to ask questions about green backyard options while enjoying free beverages served from our bamboo tiki bar.

Everyone dressed out for the occasion and had a great time listening to the local music and enjoying the San Diego art scene while educating the public on how environmentally friendly their backyard vacation spot could be.

Over the past 6 years, the event has grown from a small, limited-budget occasion to a thriving 1.6 mile weekend destination drawing over 75 small businesses and countless musicians, artists and street performers.

The event was a great opportunity for locals to see and be seen. Small businesses enjoyed the opportunity to feature artists work in their converted workspaces while artists enjoyed the exposure to crowds who may not have ever seen their work otherwise. This symbiotic relationship drew hundreds of San Diegans to streets where everyone celebrated the unique San Diego art scene.

Bamboo and Tikis loved being a part of this celebration. The six hour event flew by in the presence of great art, good music and an abundance of local pride.
