Bamboo and Tikis Supports Granite Hills High School Surf Team
Bamboo and Tikis recently donated tropical décor and tiki masks to the Granite Hills High School Surf Team. The Team held their island-themed year-end banquet recently in the DreamCatcher at Viejas where Bamboo and Tikis' tropical decorations were featured. The Surf Team holds an annual banquet to honor the students excellence both in and out of the water. Of course, a tropical theme was appropriate for the event as so many of the Surf Teams values are based on the ocean and the cultures surrounding it.
The event was held on Wednesday March 30 at the Viejas Casino in Alpine and drew an event-high 125 guests. A silent auction featured various donated items that raised thousands of dollars for the Surf Teams operating budget for the 2011-2012 school year. Retailers and businesses from around San Diego county donated everything from surfboard leashes and wetsuits, to a 3 day stay at the Mission Beach House on the Boardwalk and 2 beach cruisers for guests to bid on. Just about 100% of the Granite Hills High School Surf Teams funding comes from this event so it was important for it to be a success; Bamboo and Tikis was glad to be a part of it.
Bamboo and Tikis is committed to helping serve the community in which we operate and hope that our tiki masks and tropical signs helped to make the Granite Hills High School Surf Teams banquet a memorable one. The Team will compete in three more surf contests through the end of the school year followed by the national championship at the end of the season. We wish them the best of luck.
